Festival Talk

I was recently honoured to be a Speaker at the North East’s newest Festival on Yoga and Wellness. It was exciting being part of this new initiative. Brilliantly organised and involving the North East’s Wellness and Yogi community. My talk evolved around Personal Resilience, building on my research and book called Leadership Resilience in a Digital Age by Routledge. I discussed the main elements of Psychology and active internal and external Wellness. This involved conversation, mental positivity and agility along with activity and mindfulness and meditation. All wrapped in a Mind, Body and Spirit approach. Understanding the strategies for personal resilience is important to our survival and I have pointed out that Personal Resilience is an intelligence that can be learnt. Long may our new Festival continue.

2026

Welcome to the 2026 posts!

Alignment to Self

A new year, and more challenges to face in unstable times with daily change. We need to be resilient and create habits for these times, such as daily mindfulness and meditation in a quiet space. Enabling us to reach our own presence and essence, and supporting improved health benefits. Alignment to self is what we hope to achieve as we filter out the external noise.

Turn this into a daily habit to achieve maximum benefits. A life-changing habit. A new journey to a new you.

LEARNING FROM THE JOURNEY

Leadership and the Moral-Ethical Compass

Real leaders stand up and use their moral compass or do they?  Decision-makers need to consider the wider impact of their decisions both in terms of  how they impact on the business internally and externally and specifically with reference to how this impacts on society.   Moreover, will the decision being made support the greater good and not just the bottom line? These are incredibly important  issues due to the emergence of the new technologies.  How we respond and implement the new trends and technologies is crucial to our very survival and quality of life.    Ethics and leadership go hand in hand. We need to produce leaders who are prepared to evaluate the options carefully in these challenging times.    The bottom line is that we need to teach this skill set in leadership and management programmes  along with a whole range of other hard and soft skills.   What we need is a leader that supports the characteristics of an Ethical Ambassador.
